Ledcor owns and operates nine tugboats and twenty-two barges, making it one of the largest marine operations serving natural resources and industrial customers in Southwest British Columbia (BC). Our tugs are based in Richmond, BC in the North Arm of the Fraser River, with one vessel working full time in Victoria. They can be deployed to any area along the southern BC coast in a timely manner.
Our marine services include:
- Ship assist
- Barge and marine towing services
- Emergency marine services
We currently work in unison with
our forestry operations to provide closed-loop supply chain services for the forestry industry. Our specially designed and constructed barges feature higher sides, which allow for high volume transport of fibre and other low-density materials. This allows us to transfer fiber quickly and economically.

Marine Services - Barge
Southwest British Columbia
Ledcor owns twenty-two barges to serve natural resource and industrial customers in Southwest British Columbia (BC). We also own seven tugs, five based in Richmond, BC and one vessel working full time in Victoria. When its capability is needed, we also have a multi-purpose sectional pontoon barge that can be trucked anywhere across North America.
Our barges are currently used to serve clients in the forestry, bio-energy, and industrial sectors. They are used to ship woodchips, biomass, aggregate, building materials and general cargo - with the ability to transport many more products by water.
In 2014, Ledcor acquired two 80 metre barges, each equipped with a deck strength of over 3,000 lbs/sq.ft. These barges can transport a wide variety of potential cargoes including bulk commodities, containers, equipment modules, and construction materials such as pipe.
