    The reclamation work included the re-sloping (grading) of approximately 3,000,000 y3 of angle-of-repose dumps and resurfacing (smoothing) of unvegetated dumps to prepare them for growth media and seed application. Ledcor also filled in historic abandoned workings to improve public safety and installed interim haul roads to accommodate future growth media haulage and spreading. Dust suppression water was imported to the site around the clock to maintain compliance with strict air quality regulations. There were approximately 240 acres of resurfacing necessary.

    Ledcor worked closely with the client’s engineer to generate optimized final slope designs for use in GPS-assisted dozing and streamlining monthly volume reconciliations.
