Ledcor's scope included open pit coal operations, contract mining, waste pre-stripping, construction of access roads and ramps, preparation of drill pads, drilling, waste load, and haul and dump management. Extra work included mine reclamation, stripping and placement, construction of water diversion systems, and construction of haul roads for the client's use. 

    Ledcor mined the upper benches of the eastern portions of the Teck Harris Pit, Phases 10 and 11. Scope of work for this portion included access road construction, drill pad preparation, drilling, side casting of materials, load, haul, and placement of approximately 700,000 barrel cubic meters (bcm) of waste material. 

    Ledcor's scope was extended to include 471,000 bcm of waste, parting and coal removal from the Harris 3 Pit bottom. Work included waste removal to designated dump locations, coal cleaning and recovery, load, haul and stockpile management of coal, pit dewatering, ramp and haul road construction, and maintenance within the work area.
