The Ledcor-Haisla Limited Partnership (LHLP) installed critical utility piping to connect the Marine Offload Facility to the Marine Outfall, supporting the infrastructure of the LNG Canada project. This project involved the installation of approximately 5.6 km (3.5 mi) of specialized pipelines designed to manage effluent, firewater, and potable water systems. By delivering these essential utility connections, the partnership ensured the facility has the reliable water management systems necessary for its long-term operations.
The project scope featured the construction of 4 km (2.5 mi) of twin effluent pipelines and 1.7 km (1 mi) of firewater lines using High-Density Polyethylene (HDPE) piping. To ensure system longevity and reliability in coastal conditions, the team installed six specialized risers equipped with heat trace, insulation, and cathodic protection. And to meet the project’s requirements, the team successfully managed the installation of diverse water systems across a significant 5.6 km (3.5 mi) span. Additional essential components include potable water lines, two fire hydrants, and eight post indicator valves.
