Ledcor was the lead of LS Lakeshore Constructors (Joint Venture of Ledcor and Sacyr) for the Lakeshore East Corridor Infrastructure, West Corridor Expansion – Package B & C Project. This project included 7 km of provisions for a future 4th track, including retaining walls, culverts, raceway, earthworks, and three new bridges, in one of the busiest rail corridors in Canada, for the accommodation of the planned expansion of GO Transit rail services on the Kingston subdivision. This project was constructed in an area with active community groups, and through sensitive environmentally TRCA regulated areas. Other working partners included City of Toronto for lands, permits, and approvals. Key project upgrades include the construction of 3 km of new piling and lagging retaining walls along the rail corridor, 1 km of T-Wall retaining wall construction, 2 m diameter trenchless culvert through the existing railway embankment, wet and dry utility relocation including CN fibre through rail corridor, and three bridge expansions at Woodbine Avenue, Warden Avenue, and Danforth Avenue.
