Ledcor completed a 5.8km marine cable crossing project from the east side of Cameron Lake to the west side as part of a segment to connect to Port Alberni.  The scope of work included cable procurement, engineering, civil construction of beach manholes using Horizontal Directional Drilling (HDD) and open trench methodologies, and the marine installation of the submarine cable across the lake.  This would eventually connect to Port Alberni along the E&N (Esquimalt & Nanaimo) rail line path. This project was finalized in 2020.
