Northland Mall Redevelopment

The Northland Mall Redevelopment project includes the demolition of 22, 297 sq. m. (240,000 sq. ft.) of existing mall while maintaining portions of the structure to refurbish into three new retail buildings. 

The existing two-level concrete and steel building is undergoing a full renovation to accommodate new retail, office, and medical spaces. Ledcor is also constructing six new standalone retail buildings, resulting in over 18,581 sq. m. (200,000 sq. ft.) of new mixed-use space. The project scope includes all related site work including underground site services, hardscapes, and landscaping, which is all being completed while maintaining operations for 10 existing tenants and minimizing disturbance to the public and mall patrons. 

The pre-construction of this retail redevelopment project began in 2014 and underwent a major redesign in 2016. Ledcor received full project approval in July 2022 with a completion deadline of August 2023 for Phase 1. As of April 2023, over 10,000 tonnes of demo material have been removed from the site, 75% of which (by mass) has been recycled.
