  1. Willow Creek Mine

The Fort Hills Oil Sands mining project is an open-pit mine and extraction complex. The project mines and processes approximately 110,000,000 tonnes of oil sand per year, yielding an average of 194,000 barrels of bitumen per day at full production.

Ledcor was engaged within the FEED stage and Early Construction Involvement (ECI) to further detailed engineering in order to complete the construction deliverables for the project.

Ledcor’s scope of work included earthworks, piling, foundations, structural steel, buildings, mechanical, piping, electrical and instrumentation, and pipeline for the following five areas:

• Booster Pumphouse #1
• Booster Pumphouse #2
• FT Lines Corridor and Seepage Wells
• North Process Affected Water (PAW) Pond
• TFT Barges

Ledcor was also awarded additional scope for the Pumphouse Retrofit and assisted the Fort Hills operations and maintenance groups with materials management and construction activities related to the retrofit of 13 OPTA tailings pumps.
