    Ledcor worked closely with Suncor to complete the FEED validation and is currently executing the project at Base Plant. The project is being completed in a 50% partnership with Technica Reunidas. The Cogen Plant project involves the replacement of three petroleum coke-fired boilers with two highly efficient Mitsubishi 403 MW 501JAC natural gas cogeneration units delivering steam from the combustion of thermally efficient natural gas to Suncor’s Base Plant and generating power back to the Alberta grid. 

    The project will contribute to the overall government climate change strategy while reducing air emissions. The CBR Project is located on the existing footprint, minimizing any land disturbance.  

    Construction is well underway, with commissioning to begin in early 2024.
