Day of Mourning And Workers’ Memorial Day 2019

April 28th is Canada’s Day of Mourning and Workers’ Memorial Day in the United States. It is a time to remember those who have lost their lives or suffered an injury or illness on the job.

At Ledcor, this day is a reminder of why we are relentless in our focus on prevention and planning for safe production. Our goal—always—is to stop people from getting hurt. Whether we are in the field, in the office, or at home, ‘Think Safety Work Safely.’ Stay focused, look out for yourself and your peers, and have the courage to intervene when something is unsafe.

In recognition of this year’s Day of Mourning or Workers’ Memorial Day, over the past month, we featured on our social media channels what ‘Think Safety Work Safely’ means to this year’s recipients of the Dave Lede Award for Safety and William F. Lede Safety Excellence Award.

As you read through each one, we ask for you to reflect on what ‘Think Safety Work Safely’ means to you.
