On May 27, 2016, seventeen Ledcor Lightning players came out to participate in the 26th Annual BC Children’s Hospital Slo-Pitch Tournament at Softball City in Surrey, BC. The event raises funds for the hospital’s most urgent needs, including research, equipment purchases and upgrades, and education and programs.
During Friday night’s Real Estate Division tournament, the Lightning won their first game but lost their second, and therefore didn’t make it to the semi-finals. Regardless, everyone enjoyed coming out to support the kids. Through our Construction group’s fundraising efforts, the generosity of our subtrades and suppliers, and Ledcor’s donation matching program, we proudly donated a total of $24,900 to the BC Children's Hospital Foundation.
In total, 55 teams participated over the Slo-Pitch Weekend and $214,000 was raised. Ledcor was the 2nd highest fundraiser.
Thanks to everyone who went to bat for the kids and helped put smiles back where they belong!
