Ledcor was proud to be the company with the most employee representation at the annual Inside Ride National Tour that took place on Saturday, October 17, 2015 at the West Edmonton Mall. For the fifth year in a row, employees showcased Ledcor’s corporate pride in a sea of white, red, and blue in support of kids with cancer and their families.
The Inside Ride is Canada’s first indoor cycling challenge and fundraising event. Presented by Coast to Coast Against Cancer Foundation, it is a fun and safe two-hour indoor cycling challenge that promotes teamwork and volunteerism, while encouraging physical activity. The fundraising aspect of the event provides participating teams with the means to help families in real, tangible ways. The money raised supports funding of oncology camps, family support programs, survivor scholarships, and other areas which contribute to inspiring hope and improving prognoses for children and their families impacted by cancer.
Our teams truly got into the spirit of the competition, earning recognition in the Highest Mileage, Best Costume, and Team Spirit categories. One of our teams was recognized for placing in the top five in team fundraising, bringing in almost $7,000. In addition, Ledcor Health, Safety and Environment employee Anna Jiang was recognized as one of the top three female fundraisers. Collectively, Ledcor’s 30 cyclists brought in $20,008 which will be corporately matched for a grand total of $40,016 that will go towards the Kids with Cancer Society.
Tara Graham, Director of Development, Kids with Cancer Society, commended Ledcor on our support of the event. “Ledcor’s support, not only in fundraising, but in team numbers, visible presence, and enthusiasm make this event a success every year. Ledcor’s support means our kids and their families get the help they need in their time of crisis. Thank you for so much for your leadership, generosity, and caring heart, Ledcor!”
With support from all participating employees and those who donated, we’re making a difference in the lives of children with cancer—together.
