December 20, 2017
Every year in November, Ledcor employees team up to raise money and awareness for the Movember movement. For Movember 2017, 62 Ledcor employees, either individually or on one of 9 teams, fundraised and grew moustaches (and beards!) in support of the Movember programs that support prostate cancer, testicular cancer, and men’s mental health.
Ledcor first participated in the event in 2011, and this past year, the 7th year running, employees all across Canada and the US hit a new fundraising milestone of over $83,000 including the corporate match! Teams LTS Canada ($11,233) and LTS US ($8,215) had a healthy rivalry for the spot of top team fundraising, while Douglas Drinkwater ($5,490), Richard Hoy ($4,311), and Allen Hemrich ($4,300) vied for top individual honours.
The Movember movement began in 2003 and to date has inspired support from over 5 million participants around the world. In 13 years they have funded more than 1,200 men’s health projects around the world. To date, with corporate match, Ledcor and its employees have contributed over $398,000 to this very worthwhile cause.
A brief look into the moustache smiles we got to see around the workplace for the month of November
We want to extend our gratitude to everyone for their dedication to this movement and generous support year after year!
