April 12, 2018
On April 6, approximately 300 km north of Regina, 29 people were on board the Humboldt Broncos junior hockey team bus bound for a playoff game when it collided with a tractor-trailer. The tragic crash took the lives and injured many members of the junior hockey team.
This horrific event was felt across Canada and around the world. To show support, communities throughout the nation, and many sports teams (including teams in the NHL), held a moment of silence in honour of the victims and their families.
On April 12, Canadians across the country stood together to show their support for the victims and families by wearing sports jerseys as part of Jersey Day.
In Ledcor Cares spirit, our employees put on their sports jerseys to be a part of this initiative. Employees were invited to donate minimum $10, with all money raised going towards a selected charity chosen by the affected families of this tragedy.
We would like to thank all employees who wore their jerseys and donated. We encourage everyone to continue to show support by donating to the team’s GoFundMe or a related charity.
