Ledcor Employee Giving Raises $2Million

Edmonton, Alberta (January 2022) - Ledcor’s annual employee giving campaign raised a record $2M through employee donations and corporate match in 2021.  Under the theme Together Ledcor Cares, employees across the company were encouraged to support charities they’re passionate about and create fun memories while doing so.

Despite continuing challenges presented by the pandemic, the teams behind the campaign designed some creative ways to raise awareness and spirit across the various locations where our employees live and work. The campaign was kicked off with a virtual global presentation where storytellers from several charities inspired our employees with tales of challenges and success.  Some locations held virtual trivia games, challenging their employees’ knowledge in entertainment, sports and local support.  Meanwhile, leaders and volunteers demonstrated their commitment by taking a pie in the face – on video – to support the various goals.

“The 2021 employee giving campaign has been so memorable in so many ways,” says Don Quan, Executive Sponsor 2021 and President, Ledcor Resources and Transportation.  “The highlight for me was to experience the energy, commitment and dedication of our True Blue Ledcor Volunteers working tirelessly and exemplifying the spirit of Ledcor.”

Employee contributions through pledges and fundraising activities are corporately matched dollar for dollar, and continue to support wish granting, hot meals for homeless youth, equipment purchases and programs that assist those in need.

Money raised goes toward charities supporting:

  • Children’s hospitals and hospices

  • Local organizations supporting children and families, such as Covenant House, Kids’ Kottage, The Children’s Cottage, and YESS.

  • Local foodbanks

  • Health charities supporting Crohn’s and Colitis, Alzheimers, and Cancer

Children and youth support programs such as Make-A-Wish, Boys and Girls Clubs, Variety, and United Way chapters.
