Ledcor is proud to announce a $3 million donation to BC Children’s Hospital Foundation, strengthening our longstanding partnership and commitment to advancing pediatric healthcare initiatives within our province.
This contribution will directly support the development of the BC Children’s Hospital centre for health complexity, a first-of-its-kind centre designed to support the needs of children living with complex, chronic health conditions.
As part of this transformational gift, the primary reception area for the facility will be named the Ledcor Welcome Centre and will be designed to provide families with a supportive environment from the moment they arrive.
“For 35 years, Ledcor has redefined what’s possible for children’s health through its partnership with BCCHF,” said Malcolm Berry, President and CEO, BC Children’s Hospital Foundation. “Ledcor was among the first to step forward to support our new centre for health complexity with their $3 million commitment, creating momentum that has inspired others to follow. Their extraordinary generosity will bring the Ledcor Welcome Centre to life, ensuring that children and families navigating health complexity have a thoughtfully designed space for their unique journeys.”
Throughout our partnership, Ledcor and its employees have contributed more than $14 million to BC Children’s Hospital Foundation, including $5 million towards the construction of the Teck Acute Care Centre, featuring the Ledcor Children’s Emergency.
“BC Children's Hospital has been a cornerstone of Ledcor's community investment for more than 35 years,” said Dave Lede, Chairman & CEO, Ledcor. “From the Ledcor Children’s Emergency to this new centre for health complexity, we've had the privilege of building alongside this institution in every sense of the word. Every child who comes through those doors deserves the very best care British Columbia can offer, and we're proud to play a part in making that possible.”
“Supporting BC Children’s Hospital has long been a central focus of Ledcor’s community investment efforts,” said Katherine Coutinho, SVP, Corporate Communications & Public Affairs, Ledcor. “We are honored to help bring this new centre to life and play a role in advancing care for children across British Columbia.”
Slated to open in 2028, the centre for health complexity will provide services in person and virtually to children with medical complexity, their families, and medical professionals who support the care of these children in communities across BC and the Yukon.
With this donation, Ledcor strengthens its longstanding partnership with BC Children’s Hospital and continues its commitment to supporting the communities where we live and work.
