Ledcor Announces $119,095 Contribution in the Miracle Weekend Telethon

Ledcor was a proud donor in the 28th annual Miracle Weekend fundraiser organized by BC Children’s Hospital earlier in May. Ledcor employees Chris Cayford, Bibha and Kevin Ebert, and Bailey Lam represented the entire organization at the Miracle Weekend telethon in a televised cheque presentation which announced a contribution of $119,095 raised by Ledcor employees and the corporate donation matching program.

Ledcor has supported the BC Children’s Hospital Foundation for a total of 24 years. In this time, Ledcor has donated over $6.3 million to the hospital, including funds raised through annual events and corporate donations, including Ledcor’s $5 million commitment to name the new emergency department.

This year, Ledcor’s donations are a culmination of funds raised from the events leading up to the weekend. This includes $16,900 raised from Slo-Pitch, $2,195 from Jeans Day, and $100,000 raised from personal pledges and local fundraising efforts which are part of Ledcor’s annual company-wide employee campaign, Ledcor Cares.

“Every year thousands of children from across BC and the Yukon visit BC Children’s Hospital and each of them benefits from the tremendous generosity of Ledcor and its employees,” said Teri Nicholas, president and CEO of BC Children’s Hospital Foundation. “The money that Ledcor employees presented at Miracle Weekend in May of 2015 will support research into childhood diseases, the purchase of lifesaving equipment and training and education programs for medical staff and families. Ultimately this generosity will touch the lives of hundreds of thousands of people.”

Taking part in the Miracle Weekend and funding research for childhood diseases are causes that are deeply rooted in the hearts of Ledcor employees. In BC, many Ledcor employees and their families have received care at BC Children’s Hospital and understand the importance of improving the health and the lives of the young people who enter the hospital every day. We’re proud of our employee’s involvement in the community and will continue to support the causes that our employees are passionate about.
