Ledcor Rides Again in Support of Kids with Cancer Society

On October 18th, Ledcor employees in the Edmonton area once again participated in the 4th annual Inside Ride cycling event at West Edmonton Mall, raising over $40,000 to support the Kids with Cancer Society.

Ledcor had seven teams made up of 40 cyclists, including employees and family members who enthusiastically pedalled their way through the challenge and were cheered on by teammates, friends, colleagues, and many spectators.  Employee-led fundraising brought in an impressive $20,943 and this amount was corporately matched, bringing the total amount to $41,887 to help support children and their families impacted by cancer.

In total, 31 teams participated in the Ride, raising $146,531.35. Ledcor was the largest single company participant at the event and Ledcor Team Awesome was the 3rd highest fundraising team.  Stuart Bray, Senior Estimator, Construction Group, was the top individual fundraiser!

“It is KWCS’ belief that without Ledcor’s support the past four years this event would not be possible and would have never grown to the size it has. The support not only in fundraising but in signing up teams and showing up with spirit and heart has been immeasurable,”, said Erin Hamilton, Manager, Signature & Community Events with the Kids with Cancer Society.

The Inside Ride event is a stationary cycling challenge and celebration created and run by Coast to Coast for Cancer, and coordinated in Edmonton by the Kids with Cancer Society. The Kids with Cancer Society receives all proceeds of the event.

Kids with Cancer provides programs and services not offered by any other organization. From the time of diagnosis, throughout treatment and beyond, Kids with Cancer provides vital services that address the support, clinical, and research needs of children with cancer and their families.
