Vancouver, BC. The Ledcor Group of Companies is providing support towards emergency efforts in British Columbia to assist those affected by recent flooding. A $25,000 contribution to the Red Cross will be distributed in the communities of Chilliwack, Abbotsford and Merritt. In addition, Ledcor will match employee donations to support flood relief up to $25,000.

“Over the past week, numerous communities across British Columbia have been hit with extreme weather conditions and flooding which left thousands of people stranded and displaced from their homes,” said Dave Lede, Chairman and CEO. “As a BC-based company with diverse operations in many local communities across the province, we are in a position to help. Many of our employees and their families have been directly impacted, including those located at our Forestry Mill in Chilliwack.”

Summit Helicopters, a member of The Ledcor Group of Companies, currently has two Bell 407 twin engine helicopters active in the region supporting the BC government's relief efforts. In addition, Ledcor’s Marine Operations is coordinating efforts to provide assistance to transport essential supplies upstream to Chilliwack.

The Canadian Red Cross is working to get help to people in and around affected areas as quickly as possible and provide humanitarian assistance for new needs as they arise. Money raised will enable the Red Cross to carry out relief, recovery, resiliency and risk reduction activities in and beyond the region at the individual and community levels.
