Ledcor Participates in Miracle Weekend with Cheque Presentations to BCCH and IWK

Ledcor Employee Campaign co-chairs Kayla Bordignon and Sarah Sweeting deliver the cheque to BC Children’s Hospital along with a group of generous Ledcor employees and their families

Ledcor employees have proudly supported BCCH for many years and 2015 was no different. Marking the 25th year of participation, together we have raised over $6 million for patients and their families!

This past June, Ledcor employees participated in the BCCH Telethon Miracle weekend, presenting $127,745 to the BC Children’s Hospital in Vancouver, and $17,040 to the IWK Foundation in Halifax, a health care center that provides care to women, children, and youth from Nova Scotia, New Brunswick, and Prince Edward Island. The majority of fundraising comes from the annual company-wide employee campaign where funds are raised through individual pledges. Funds are also raised through local events, such as Slo-Pitch and Jeans Day, with Ledcor matching everything raised.

Together with donors, the IWK Foundation raises money to support the complex care provided at the IWK Health Centre, a world-class, specialized facility for Maritime women, children, youth, and families.

Because of the support of donors, the IWK is able to provide world-class care, and even received a heartwarming video of thanks from two parents whose infant son suffers from a heart condition, “Without the IWK and the wonderful people that work here and all of you amazing donors, there’s no doubt that our son wouldn’t be with us today – Thank You.”

Your dedication and commitment to giving back to the IWK and BCCH communities year after year exemplifies the qualities and characteristics that make our Ledcor family so strong.
