Ledcor Employee Giving Campaign Raises Over $1.4M In 2018

Since 2013, Ledcor employees have participated in an annual giving campaign that raises money in support of over 200 charities across North America.  During October 2018 the campaign raised more than $700,000 in pledges and employee fundraising, which was corporately matched by Ledcor for a total donation to charity of over $1.4M.

Giving back to the communities in which we live and work is a key part of Ledcor's core values and culture.  The Employee Giving Campaign runs over a three week period in October and employee contributions through pledges and fundraising activities are corporately matched dollar for dollar.  Employees are also encouraged to volunteer at various charities where their help with yard cleaning, making lunches, cleaning and making care packages is also a substantial way to make a difference.  To date this campaign has raised more than $8.4M.

Money raised will go towards charities supporting:

  • Children’s hospitals and hospices

  • Local organizations such as Covenant House, Little Warriors, Kids’ Kottage and New Opportunities for Women (NOW).

  • Local foodbanks

  • Children and youth support programs such as Make-A-Wish; Big Brothers, Big Sisters, Variety and United Way chapters

  • Health charities such as Heart & Stroke, JDRF and Alzheimers.

Employees from across all divisions came together in local fundraising events such as b-b-ques, silent auctions and friendly competitions that raised over $68,000.

Funds raised continue to support wish granting, hot meals for homeless youth, assistance for families dealing with serious medical issues and various support services that serve the immediate needs of those suffering medical and economic hardship within our local communities.

Some of the funds raised during this campaign will also go towards new pediatric medical equipment and hospital programs in the children’s hospitals within our communities.
