Alaska Highway Maintenance North and South

Public Works Government Services Canada

Ledcor is delivering both year-round and seasonal highway maintenance along 835 km of the Alaska Highway. This project supports safe movement for local and commercial traffic along a critical transportation corridor while providing long-term infrastructure reliability and regional connectivity across northern British Columbia. This multi-year maintenance program spans from 133 km to 968 km, encompassing both the southern and northern sections of the highway. The scope of work includes roadway and drainage maintenance, winter operations, inspections, asphalt and aggregate applications, and signage installation to enhance public safety and traffic management. This program also requires rapid response to changing environmental conditions and unplanned events such as flooding, erosion, frost heaves, and debris to maintain highway safety and operations all year-round. Ledcor is working collaboratively with BC Treaty 8 Indigenous groups to deliver this program, supporting long-term participation in work activities and investment in the surrounding communities.
