Ledcor, in partnership with Woslee Construction of Nassau, completed the Lynden Pindling International Airport Expansion Project in three stages. This is the largest infrastructure project ever undertaken by the Bahamian Government, consisting of a new International Arrivals and International Departures/Domestic Terminal, and a fully renovated US Departures Terminal.
Our team worked with the owner and design consultant to develop new ways to pre-fabricate and revise standard construction sequencing so work could be accelerated. We used BIM extensively for all trade disciplines to communicate design to all stakeholders. The project was completed three months early under an aggressive schedule that accommodated a continuous flow of arriving and departing passengers throughout the project.
The airport building contains geothermal and solar systems, a TPO roof, and is designed to withstand 150 mph hurricane-force winds.
