Texas Department of Transportation
Killeen to Copperas Cove, Texas
Construction on Texas State Highway 9 – known as the northeast relief route – is well under way since the project broke ground on February 21, 2011.
Ledcor is building the 5.5 kilometer (3.5 mile) loop, including retaining walls, underground drainage systems, and five bridges.
The bridges over Georgetown Road and Turkey Run Creek are already completed, while work on those over Tank Destroyer Boulevard, the railroad tracks, and the interchange are scheduled to begin this year.
The project is on track for completion in the summer of 2013.
