South Fraser Perimeter Road

Province of British Columbia / Fraser Transportation Group

Delta & Surrey, British Columbia

The South Fraser Perimeter Road, a $1.3 billion project serving Metro Vancouver, was completed at the end of 2013. It is the largest civil construction project Ledcor has worked on in British Columbia’s Lower Mainland.

The four-year design and construction process included approximately 40 km of new urban highway in metro Vancouver (25 miles) on the south side of the Fraser River. With connections to Highway 99, Highway 91, the Trans-Canada Highway, the Pattullo Bridge, and the Golden Ears Bridge, the route was a major step towards improving Metro Vancouver’s road network by helping to remove heavy truck traffic from local roads, reduce travel times through the region, and improve access to major trade gateways and industrial areas.

As part of the Fraser Transportation Group (FTG), Ledcor is partnering with Dragados, BellPacific, and Vancouver Pile Driving to complete the project. We also share a 20-year commitment to operating and maintaining the road with ACS Infrastructure Canada.

Ledcor also worked extensively with stakeholders and local residents during the project to discuss social impacts including noise, construction, traffic, dust, and the project in general.
