Project Profile
Gibraltar Mine
Taseko
McLeese Lake, British Columbia
Ledcor has been contracted to further develop the Gibraltar Mine and relocate 27 million metric tons of waste material. This copper-molybdenum mine is the second largest open-pit copper mine in Canada, and the largest employer in BC’s massive Cariboo region.
Ledcor mobilized to the Gibraltar mine in late 2013 in preparation for the 20 month contract. In May of 2014, Ledcor was further awarded a scope of work to expand a subsequent phase of the Gibraltar mine. This includes mine development and pioneering activities to move an additional 11 million tons of waste rock over a six-month period.
