Ledcor completed a project for Shaw that included the installation of a 5.6 kilometer (3.5 miles) submarine cable across Kootenay Lake. The connection will provide Shaw with a vital backbone link between the ports of Balfour and Pilot Point. As a result of the remote lake location and limited availability of suitable vessels to complete the work, Ledcor personnel had to develop creative installation solutions that are both economically and technically viable.
