Community Engagement

Creating opportunities in the communities where we work ensures we leave behind more than just a job well done.

Community Partnerships

Ledcor has been an active participant in many joint ventures for job training, community development, and advocacy. We develop strong community relationships by providing opportunities beyond employment.

Some of the programs and initiatives we’ve partnered with include:

  • Heavy Metal Rocks Program
  • Trades in Motion
  • Miss School, Miss Out
  • Vancouver Blade Runners
  • Job Horizon: Northern Neighbors
  • Alberta Chamber of Resources
  • Aboriginal Resource Development Council of Canada
  • National Aboriginal Trades Leadership Committee
  • First Nations Training and Employment Partnership Program

Aboriginal Relations

We recognize the importance of cultivating long-term relationships based on mutual respect, trust, and cooperation. We’ve partnered with several Aboriginal community–owned companies on construction projects, which have been mutually beneficial.

Aboriginal awareness and cultural training is mandatory for senior management and available to all Ledcor employees. These training programs help to ensure that Ledcor employees have the knowledge and skills necessary to work with the Aboriginal community and an appreciation for their history and culture.

Some programs that we support include:

  • Aboriginal Human Resource Development Council of Canada
  • National Aboriginal Trades Leadership Committee
  • First Nations Training and Employment Partnership Program
