The Grand Rapids Pipeline system consists of two parallel pipelines, approximately 425km (264 miles) in length, and a total of 850km (528 miles) of pipe, from approximately 30km (19 miles) northwest of Fort McMurray to the Edmonton area.
Ledcor entered into an Alliance Agreement with the Grand Rapids Pipeline Limited Partnership (through its agent TransCanada Oil Pipeline Operations Ltd.) to provide pipeline construction services for the proposed Grand Rapids Project. TransCanada has been a client of Ledcor for many years. Under this Alliance Agreement, Ledcor would construct approximately 850km of the pipeline through November 2013 to April 2017.
The award of this Alliance Agreement to Ledcor requires approximately 1,200 employees at its peak, and $150M of new equipment to see the $950M project through to completion.
