Ledcor Makes $20,000 Investment in Safety

JSSS Board Chair, Michelle Colleton, makes presentation to Ledcor's Ron Nalewajek, in recognition of Ledcor’s commitment and investment to youth safety.

For the second year in a row, Ledcor has dedicated funds to the Job Safety Skills Society, an Alberta-based not-for-profit society dedicated to youth workplace safety.

Celebrating its 23rd year ‘in the classroom’, the Job Safety Skills Society focuses on significantly reducing youth injuries, illness, and fatalities in the workplace by providing and facilitating education and training to youth. The Society is a partnership of educators, industry, and government, focused on helping students identify the tools they need to live and work safely.

As part of their mandate, the Society operates JobSafe, a program in which they research, develop, and deliver an extensive school-based program of workplace health and safety education and training resources designed to encourage and promote a positive attitude toward safety. Ledcor’s $20,000 contribution will go a long way to helping the Society run these important programs.

On Thursday May 8, 2014, Ledcor was invited to a Safe Youth Network Celebration, where several students were presented with safety awards and Ledcor was recognized for their support. For Ledcor, this contribution is an important investment towards the safeguarding of young people, helping them to develop skills and acquire knowledge that will help them become safe workers, and demonstrates our committment to safety whether at work, on the road, or at home.
