Since 1988, Ledcor has played a major role in the development of Vancouver’s downtown skyline. Today, Ledcor is one of the largest diversified, well-respected, and prominent repeat builders of choice for Commercial, Institutional, Industrial and Residential projects across British Columbia (namely Vancouver, Victoria, and Kelowna). Developing a special expertise in the late eighties for construction of high density residential, office buildings and shopping centers in Vancouver, Ledcor has expanded that experience and has now built over 8,000 residential units across North America totalling excess of 10 million square feet.
Among the 3,000+ residential units currently under construction, Ledcor is responsible for many of British Columbia’s premiere mixed-use and high-rise developments including some of Canada’s most expensive addresses: the waterfront developments One and Two Harbour Green, the five-star mixed-use ShangriLa Hotel project, and the recently completed mixed-use Shaw Tower on Vancouver’s Coal Harbour waterfront. In addition to this expertise, Ledcor has also played a major role in the construction of notable office buildings such as Bentall 5, the PriceWaterhouseCoopers Tower, Pivotal Software, Metropolis at Metrotown Shopping Centre, and the renovations to downtown’s Pacific Center Mall to name a few.
The Vancouver office is a founding member of the Canadian Green Building Council of Canada and a pre-eminent leader in sustainable construction. In 2004, the Vancouver office also co-authored the GVRD’s “Contractors Guide to Green Construction Techniques”. Since then, Ledcor has been the recipient of three major LEED awards: “Gold” for both UBC Life Sciences Centre and the new BC Cancer Research Facility, and “Platinum” for the Government of Canada Gulf Islands Operations Center.
The Vancouver office excels in construction projects of all sizes including smaller tenant improvements, Airport terminal construction, mixed-use buildings, high-density residential, commercial office buildings, shopping centers, and institutional facilities.
